The Let's Play Archive, or LP Archive, located at lparchive.org is the largest online repository of completed LPs on the internet,  and has been in operation since 2007 (with LP's dating to 2006). Drawing content from the Something Awful Forums LP forum, the archive collects content from completed LP threads (including fanart and other relevant content), formats it and adds tags for searchability, and adds it to the database. As of October 2014, the archive contains approximately 1500 completed LPs, from 007: Agent Under Fire, to Zork: Grand Inquisitor. The Archive is hosted by Baldurk and is supported by advertisements from Google and Project Wonderful. LP's are given semantic tags which can be searched, such as "voice", "informative", "humorous", etc. to allow browsers to find exactly the type of LP they want to watch.

Currently, all (or nearly all) LP's on the archive came from the SA forums, and any completed LP from the forums is eligible or hosting, regardless of quality (though since formatting must be done by hand, and the SA Forums and the Archive don't always play nicely with each other, inclusion may take some time). As content on the SA forums becomes archived after a period of time, and thus inaccessible to non-paying users, the LP Archive is a critical tool in ensuring the widest possible viewership of some of the highest quality LPs on the internet.
